A. TRAINING OBJECTIVES
1.1. Overall Objectives
The goal is to train Environmental Engineering graduates with the necessary qualities and competencies in the engineering field, playing a crucial role in environmental protection, public health, and sustainable development. Graduates will be capable of designing, implementing, operating, and managing environmental infrastructure systems to control soil, water, and air pollution and protect resources; they will possess systems thinking and high competence in applying and developing advanced technologies to provide effective solutions to ensure water, food, and energy security, moving towards a circular economy in a rapidly changing world.
1.2. Specific Objectives
The Bachelor of Environmental Engineering program provides students with:
- Possessing a strong foundation in mathematics and basic science, and the ability to effectively identify and solve environmental pollution problems based on a solid professional knowledge base in the following fields: water and wastewater engineering, air pollution control engineering (indoor and outdoor) and soil pollution, solid waste management and treatment, and sustainable water resource management.
- Possessing the necessary personal qualities and professional skills, having a systems thinking mindset and high competence in applying and developing advanced technologies, having a relevant understanding of economics, politics, society, and law, and having the ability and willingness to commit to professional ethics plays a crucial role in sustainable development, environmental protection, and public health.
- Possesses strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure adaptability in a diverse, interdisciplinary, multicultural, and multinational work environment.
- Possessing the capacity to generate ideas, participate in the design, implementation, and operation of technical systems for water treatment, recycling and solid waste recovery, and air pollution control within the context of businesses, the country, and globalization; capable of professional development in the field of environmental engineering and related professional fields in a dynamic and constantly changing society under the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
B. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering possess the following competencies:
- Capable of identifying and solving environmental engineering problems using principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering.
- Capable of designing, implementing, operating, and managing environmental infrastructure solutions/products/systems to control environmental pollution and protect resources; possesses a systems thinking approach.
- Capable of communicating effectively in various forms (oral communication, individual presentations, group presentations, written communication, graphic communication) with diverse audiences and using English effectively in the workplace.
- The ability to identify ethical and professional responsibilities in the field of environmental engineering.
- The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment.
- Capable of designing and conducting experiments/practices, analyzing data, and providing technical assessments, comments, and conclusions.
