Instructions for registering your preferences for university admissions in 2025

In 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to implement online university admission application registration through the Admissions Portal and the National Public Service Portal. To ensure a smooth and accurate registration process, candidates need to be aware of the following specific steps and timelines:

Step 1: Access the system and log in to your account.
Candidates access the website https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn or the National Public Service Portal, then log in using their citizen identification number (or identifier), personal password, and confirmation code. This account is provided to candidates by the Ministry of Education and Training for the high school graduation exam.

Step 2: Declare personal information and priority selection
After logging in, candidates need to fill in all the information completely and accurately, such as the admission area, priority group, graduation year, and if applicable, upload supporting documents. This information directly affects the bonus points in the admission process, so it needs to be carefully considered.

Step 3: Add your application preferences.
Candidates should go to the "Register Admission Information" section and select "Add Preference". Each preference requires filling in the following information: school code, major code, admission method, subject combination for admission, and priority order. The system allows an unlimited number of preferences to be registered; however, candidates need to arrange them in a suitable priority order as this will be used for the admission process.

Step 4: Edit, rearrange, or delete your preferences.
Within the allowed time frame, candidates can adjust their preferences multiple times. They can change the order of priority, edit preference information, or delete unsuitable preferences. After each adjustment, the system will request confirmation via an OTP code sent to the registered phone number using the syntax TSO [ID number] sent to 6058.

Step 5: Confirm registration
After completing the process of adding and adjusting preferences, candidates must click the "Confirm Registration" button for the system to officially record the information. If confirmation is not provided, the data will not be considered valid even if all information has been entered.

Step 6: Pay the application fee.
From July 29th to 5:00 PM on August 5th, 2025, candidates must pay the online application fee corresponding to the number of registered preferences. Paying the fee is mandatory for the preferences to be valid; otherwise, the preferences will not be considered.

Step 7: Check and print the list of preferences.
After confirming and paying the fees, candidates should log back into the system to check their registered preferences and print or save a copy for future reference.
