To better understand the process of striving and the study methods that helped him achieve his dream score, let's chat a little with Tien Hiep!
Hello Tien Hiep , first of all, congratulations on your excellent exam results! To begin our conversation today , could you please greet our readers and share a little about your feelings about joining the Water Family?
"First of all, I would like to extend my greetings to all readers and express my gratitude for the attention from the Communications Team of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. I am currently a second-year student in class 65MNEC, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. I am very happy and extremely fortunate to have achieved my goal of getting into Civil Engineering and becoming a part of the Water Family."
With such an impressive score , surely... Tien Hiep also faced many difficulties; could you share a little about your learning process?
"The years 2019-2020 were quite challenging for most students nationwide. Therefore, my secret to getting high scores was reviewing fundamental knowledge and dedicating a lot of time to self-study."
Tien Hiep is truly like a diligent bee, because even during the pandemic, he diligently collected honey to enrich his own knowledge.
How did Tien Hiep learn about the Engineering and Technology - Environmental Engineering major at the University of Civil Engineering?
"I learned about the Water Engineering major through various channels: the Faculty's social media page, the university's website, and through many seniors I know who are studying Water Engineering."
Tien Hiep, would you mind sharing your reasons for choosing to study Environmental Engineering with our readers? And what factors led you to decide to study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering?
"Not many factors influenced my choice. Actually, in my final year of high school, I didn't have a specific goal because I hadn't identified my interests yet. It's safe to say that societal needs and family expectations were the two biggest factors in my decision to study Natural Sciences and Environment."
The reason I decided to study water engineering at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering was that after researching, I learned that the university is a leader in quality and has a team of lecturers with many years of experience teaching and training in the field of Water Supply and Drainage (specializing in Environmental Engineering) in Vietnam.
In addition, the impressive statistics on the employment rate of graduates and engineers after graduation further strengthen my confidence in my choice.”
The strongest support system is family, where we find guidance amidst life's many crossroads. And only family is the one that always welcomes and comforts us, whether we succeed or fail. Family is number one, isn't it?
When given the opportunity to adjust his college application preferences, did Tien Hiep ever want to change his mind?
“After receiving my scores, I had no intention of changing my nguyện vọng (preference), because Water Engineering and Environmental Science is the field I had decided to study. Although I wasn't as intensely passionate when I first started as some of my classmates, I hope that my time studying at the university will help me gain a deeper understanding of Water Engineering and Environmental Science, as well as discover the interesting aspects of the water industry so that I can pursue a long-term career in it.”
Water Family is certainly delighted to welcome a new recruit like Cao Tien Hiep, who loves the industry, is eager to learn, and is always striving to develop in the field!
Since starting his studies at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, what goals has Tien Hiep set for his future academic journey?
"My immediate goal is to study hard and win a scholarship from the school if possible. Studying Civil Engineering is very difficult, so I'm aware that getting high grades in the subjects is extremely challenging. Furthermore, I'm quite slow to understand, so I think I need to try ten times harder to achieve good results."
Besides studying, does Tien Hiep participate in any extracurricular activities or join any student volunteer teams at the school?
"Extracurricular activities can give students opportunities to socialize and make friends, so I'll try to participate as much as possible. I hope you all won't make fun of me, because I don't have any special talents (laughs)."
It's true that the more difficult something is, the more attractive it becomes, and the more people strive to achieve it, isn't it? Besides being a good environment for learning, university is also a place where students can discover many hidden potentials within themselves, a place to cultivate and improve soft skills... At the same time, university... It is also a place that helps students expand their social circle and take their first steps on the path to adulthood.
Thank you, Cao Tien Hiep, for joining us for this conversation and for letting our readers know more about the willpower, determination, and hard work of the valedictorian of the Water Engineering - Environmental Engineering department at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. It's true that whatever you do, you need willpower and passion. As long as you have faith and determination, nothing can stop you, as a saying I really appreciate goes:
"I believe that half the difference between successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs comes from pure perseverance."
