Title of the science and technology project: Research on evaluating the contribution of different emission sources to PM2.5 dust in the air of Hanoi city.
Chairperson : Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Hieu.
Year of implementation : 2020-2021.
Funding agency : National Science and Technology Development Fund, Ministry of Science and Technology.
Target :
The objective of this research is to study, identify, and evaluate the contribution of different emission sources to PM2.5 air pollution in Hanoi, thereby providing a scientific basis for developing policies to manage and control PM2.5 air pollution in Hanoi.
Main results : The project has been implemented and has achieved the following main results:
- Research, analyze, and evaluate the pollution levels and changes in the mass concentration of PM2.5 dust and its chemical components (ions, elements, carbon) during the rainy and dry seasons in Hanoi.
- Research and analyze combined PM2.5 dust monitoring data, meteorological data, and modeling results (receiving site model; counter-air mass movement model) to identify emission sources and determine their contribution to PM2.5 dust in Hanoi's air.
- The study proposes several policy solutions to help control and reduce PM2.5 air pollution in Hanoi.
The study results identified the contribution of various emission sources to PM2.5 dust during the dry season.
Practical applications : The research results of this project contribute to providing a scientific basis and supporting the development of policies and solutions for air quality management to minimize PM2.5 air pollution in Hanoi.
