Models of conversion training programs
To comply with current legal regulations, meet international integration requirements, and implement the joint announcement of 7 domestic universities training in engineering fields, in 2020, the University of Civil Engineering began to transform its training model according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
The plan to transform the training model was implemented after the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education came into effect on July 1, 2019. The training majors under the Faculty of Environmental Engineering include:
- Environmental Engineering Major
- Specialization in Water Engineering – Water Environment
- Specialization in Engineering Systems in Construction
Starting from the 2019-2020 school year, the curriculum is designed according to the following three models:
⇒ Bachelor of Engineering program (4 years), graduates are awarded a Bachelor's degree.
⇒ Integrated Bachelor-Engineer program (5 to 5.5 years), graduates receive both a Bachelor's degree (undergraduate) and an Engineering degree (postgraduate).
⇒ Integrated Bachelor-Master program (5.5 years), graduates receive both a Bachelor's degree (undergraduate) and a Master's degree (postgraduate).

New Engineer Training Model
The new engineering training program consists of two stages: Bachelor's degree (4 years) and Master's/New Engineer degree (1.5 – 2 years). Considering that students study the same major in both stages, the integrated program will only require 5 – 5.5 years.
Based on their personal plans (study/work), students can decide on and register for a suitable program at the end of their third year.
