Female Student Chooses Environmental Engineering Because She Sees Many Opportunities for Development – Le Kim Anh

“Environmental Engineering is a very popular field with many opportunities for the future because the environment is a pressing issue for society as a whole. Furthermore, the program I'm currently studying (K64) has adopted an innovative teaching method based on international standards, emphasizing teamwork and presentations, reducing exam pressure, and developing many other useful skills . – Le Kim Anh shared.

First of all, the Editorial Board would like to thank Kim Anh for taking the time to share her stories with the lovely readers of the Faculty of Computer Science. Perhaps you don't know, but Kim Anh was a member of the Editorial Board of the Faculty of Computer Science during the 2020-2021 academic year, and during the 2020 admissions period, her words were everywhere on the Faculty's website and fanpage.

Le Kim Anh, student of class 64MTC

Le Thi Kim Anh, nicknamed Le Kim Anh, was born on May 5, 2001, and hails from Hung Yen province. She is currently studying in class 64MTC – Environmental Engineering major, Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

When asked about her reasons for choosing Environmental Engineering as her field of study and career development, Kim Anh shared:

“It was also a stroke of luck because initially I chose a different major, Environmental Engineering Technology, but then the two majors merged, so now I'm studying Environmental Engineering. Initially, I was quite worried about the merger, but after researching and studying, I found that Environmental Engineering is a very popular field with many opportunities for the future because the environment is a pressing issue for society as a whole. Furthermore, the current cohort (K64) has adopted an innovative teaching method based on international programs, with more teamwork and presentations, less exam pressure, and the development of many other useful skills.”

During her time studying at university, Kim Anh's secret to excelling in her subjects, besides her own efforts, was that studying with her classmates was also quite important.

"In university, because there's a lot of material to learn and our classes often have group assignments, besides being diligent, I also have great teammates who understand each other and help each other overcome challenging subjects."

Kim Anh also plans to study and work part-time in science so that she can maintain her academic achievements while improving herself in other areas.

"Hmm, as a student right now, I'll prioritize my studies, but I'll still work part-time to gain experience. I will..."

Set goals and strive to win scholarships in subsequent semesters.”

Kim Anh and her fellow students in the Environmental Engineering major, and students of the Environmental Engineering faculty in general, always receive support and assistance from their teachers, enabling them to participate in many activities to develop soft skills and gain exposure to a practical work environment.

Besides her studies, what other student activities has Kim Anh participated in? And could Kim Anh share some of the achievements she has accomplished over the years?

"Because I'm quite lazy and also spend my time working part-time, I participate in very few school activities. Some of the activities I've participated in with senior students and classmates from class 64MTC are:

The Fablab model is called Design Thinking.

Join the project led by teacher Hoang Minh Giang.

Most recently, the student scientific research project, supervised by Professor Hoang Minh Giang, won second prize.”

As one of the Environmental Engineering students who received an encouragement scholarship from the university, Kim Anh shared with readers:

"I wasn't the best student in the class either, but I was lucky enough to get a scholarship in one semester. For me, to achieve good results, you need to set specific goals and strive to achieve them. Hard work is essential, and studying in groups is also important because having teammates who support you will motivate you (someone might scold you when you're lazy), and you'll have more options for solving difficult problems. If it's too difficult, make notes and ask your teachers. At the University of Civil Engineering, the teachers are always friendly and willing to help if you're willing to cooperate. Hmm, and finally, I think a little bit of luck is also needed!"

One of Kim Anh's notable extracurricular activities was her time participating in the Communications Committee of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering.

Kim Anh, would you mind sharing your memories of your time with the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, especially your participation in the 2020 admissions process, with our readers? In what aspects do you feel you have improved after this experience?

"I'm very happy to have joined the Communications Team." Information about the Environmental Engineering Faculty. Perhaps the best feeling was the time spent with the team. Our task was to bring the fastest and most accurate information about the Environmental Engineering Faculty to the new students, giving them a new direction for their future.

"When I joined the Faculty's Communications Committee, I not only worked with senior students but also directly with professors. Therefore, I had to be even more responsible, and that spirit helped me complete many tasks very well. This could also be considered a way for me to upgrade myself, right?"

Every experience helps us to improve ourselves.

As a senior student, what advice does Kim Anh have for the 2003 graduating class as they embark on their university journey?

"I've heard many older students and some friends say that our school is difficult to study at, that once you get in, you can't graduate... That's true, but only applies to lazy people. If you're diligent and hardworking, you'll achieve many good results."

"I wish you all the best in choosing a major you love and that you always strive to do your best with your choices!"

Believe in your own choices, always smile, and happiness will come!

BTT would like to thank Kim Anh for taking the time to share her story, a journey that may not be long but still filled with much effort and many beautiful memories. We wish Kim Anh continued beauty, unwavering enthusiasm, and success on her chosen path!
