International Cooperation Project Name: Demonstration and Commercialization of High-Efficiency/Low-Cost Building Energy Technologies Based on Vietnam's Climate/Economic Conditions
Chairperson : Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Luong
International partner : Korea Standardization Institute (KCL)
Implementation period : 2020 – 2023
Funding agency : Government of South Korea
Target :
The main objectives of the Project include:
1. Research and evaluate the effectiveness of applying energy-saving building technologies under Vietnam's climate conditions.
2. Research, development, and evaluation of a building energy simulation model developed by the project team.
3. Support capacity-building activities in the field of building energy efficiency for stakeholders in Vietnam.
4. Promote the transfer of energy-saving building technologies from South Korea to Vietnam and foster trade cooperation between Vietnamese and South Korean businesses and companies.
Key Results : The project has been implemented and has achieved the following key results:
1. Research, design, and implement the construction of a Building Energy Laboratory (Living Lab) at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, serving training and research activities and evaluating the effectiveness of building energy-saving technologies.
2. Research and develop models, and conduct simulations of building energy efficiency suitable for Vietnam's climate conditions.
3. Conduct training and capacity-building activities in the field of building energy efficiency for stakeholders in Vietnam.
4. Implement cooperative activities for the transfer of energy-saving building technologies (energy recovery ventilation, smart lighting, energy-saving materials, etc.), and promote trade cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean businesses and companies.
LIVING LAB
Practical applications : The Living Lab is currently used to support teaching activities for the Building Engineering Systems program and scientific research activities of the Microclimate Institute, trainees, and students in the fields of energy saving and efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.
