Confessions of a Volunteer During the Pandemic – Tuyet Nhi 62MN2

Everyone is a soldier!

After more than a month of participating on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic, I feel fortunate to be young and healthy enough to contribute my efforts to help the country overcome this pandemic together.

Every morning, I usually wake up at 5:30, prepare my things, and quickly head to my assigned location. My work typically involves assisting at vaccination sites, manning disease control checkpoints, and helping transport essential supplies and food. Although I'm often tired after working all day, when I think about Hanoi returning to normal life, all the difficulties disappear. Contributing my efforts when the country needs me makes me very happy and fulfilled. Only by working directly on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic have I truly understood the hardships and difficulties faced by doctors, nurses, police officers, and service personnel. And I especially appreciate the value of human kindness and solidarity among Vietnamese people as we work together to overcome challenges. When I go on duty, I simply think about contributing whatever I can, as long as the capital city can quickly control the pandemic and return to normal life.

Volunteers are vaccinated before participating in activities.

Besides participating in the fight against the pandemic, I still dedicate time to studying at school. I also hope the pandemic ends so I can return to school and meet my friends again. My family always reminds me that I must prioritize my own health and safety so I can help others. I'm not afraid of fighting the pandemic; I'm only worried about how it will affect many people, and I just hope for peace for the country. This pandemic will surely pass, but what it leaves in my heart is not only the shock of an unforgettable memory, but it's also possible that this pandemic will begin to rekindle simple, warm feelings in each of us. Hanoi, keep going!
